Using Chaga has a long history, and there are many ways to make Chaga tea. This is just one method out of them. We will continue to talk about that in the future.
To prepare a cup of tea, you need:
Put the pieces of Chaga in a pot with 400 – 500 ml of cold water. Bring the water to a boil and leave it, together with the Chaga pieces, for 10 minutes on a low-flame simmer. Then, pour through a tea strainer into a cup or drinking glass.
Your tea is ready to drink.
The Chaga pieces can be boiled several times. The used Chaga pieces can be kept until the next tea preparation, in a water-filled glass in the fridge. The water the Chaga pieces were kept in can be used in the next tea preparation.
If the tea water lacks color after 20 minutes of decoction, add a new Chaga piece. The 10-minute cooking time is average. If you use new Chaga pieces often enough, 3 to 5 minutes is enough that the ingredients pass into the tea water.
The tea should have a brown color. The more often the pieces have been used, the longer the cooking time will be. After the 5th decoction, the cooking time may be 20 minutes or more.
